Frequently Asked Questions
“Do you do this full time? Would you ever want to?”
I do not do this as a full-time job. I am an Industrial Engineer by trade [Clemson University alum and Go Tigers!] and work in Anderson, SC.
“If you aren’t doing this full time, then why should I buy from you?”
This business is my passion and running it as a side business and no overhead means I can offer competitive prices without compromising on quality. Typically, my products are 10% - 25% cheaper than those of dedicated engraving companies, ensuring you get the best value for your money.
“So, do you just have a small desktop laser or something similar? I have a family member/friend/etc. that has one and they said…”
The good and bad of the laser industry is that it’s super saturated with a ton of home equipment users. Expertise and years of experience are what makes all the difference. We have five lasers at our disposal that we have spent years finding the perfect settings for top quality results:
2 - CO2 Gantry machines that can cut/ engrave nearly 3 ft wide by 8 ft long
2 - fiber galvo lasers that mark, etch, and engrave various types of metals and plastics
1 - CO2 galvo laser that engraves at extremely fast speeds to reduce processing times
How did you get started doing this?
I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. I started my own horseshoeing business in high school and continued into college, cherishing the connections I made with people. My dad gifted me a small diode laser when he upgraded his machine, and from there, I began engraving custom cutting boards. Officially starting as an LLC in July of 2021, we actually started out as “Tabor Ridge Farm & Workshop” because my wife wanted to sell chicken eggs at the time!
Why the windmill for a logo?
My brother-in-law actually helped with the designed logo, but as we have grown our business, the windmill fits us in a lot of ways. It symbolizes an excellent blend of industrial innovation and the timeless charm of a country life. Historically, windmills have driven agricultural and industrial advancements for progress. This resonates with my mission to combine cutting-edge laser engraving technology while working from my shop.
